On the morning of June 21, 2024, Austin James Nachtman passed away surrounded by his family at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill. He was 21 years old.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. on Friday at Seger Funeral Home in Stuart. Friends and family can pay their respects from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday. A prayer service is set for 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Stuart Community Cemetery in Stuart. Lunch will follow directly after the burial at the Stuart Community Church in Stuart.

Austin was born on Dec. 30, 2002, in Atkinson to Shane and Julie (Norton) Nachtman.  Austin grew up and spent his life in the Stuart area.  He attended and graduated from Stuart Public School.  After graduation in May 2021 Austin attended Northeast Community College and graduated with a certificate in welding.

On April 8, 2023, he married the love of his life Allison “Alli” (Sikes) Nachtman.  Together they had three beautiful children.  Hazel Grace Nachtman was born on Dec. 29, 2021, with Austin claiming the best birthday present as she was born the day before his birthday.  Asher James Nachtman was born on May 31, 2023, and Harper Eileen Nachtman was born into Heaven on April 17, 2024.

Austin and Alli lived in the Stuart area.  He spent his career working at Stuart Fertilizer and Grain.  He loved working there.  In his free time Austin enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with friends, family and going out to the farm and fixing different things.  Austin also loved photography.  His favorites were pictures at the Stuart Stock Car track at nights capturing the stars.  He loved spending all his time with his kids.  He was a loving father, caring husband and an all-around great guy to everyone that he knew.  He will always be remembered as “Naughty Nachtman” to his family, friends, and co-workers.

Austin is survived by his wife, Allison (Sikes) Nachtman and their children, Hazel and Asher; mother, Julie (Norton) Nachtman of Atkinson; sister, Megan (Tyler) Long of Atkinson; father-in-law, Joe (Tammy) Sikes of Muscatine, Iowa; mother-in-law, Nickie Drozd of Genoa; brother-in-law, Alex Sikes of Genoa; grandfather, Don Norton of Stuart; grandmother, Doris Nachtman of Bassett; uncle, Lee Nachtman of Nickerson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Harper; father, Shane Nachtman; grandfather, Adolph “Sonny” Nachtman; grandmother, Kathy Norton; and great grandparents.
